Seized Engine - 97 Challenger 1800

Question: Can a rave valve that has come loose cause an engine to seize? I had the rave valves replaced, and first 2 hours on the water one vibrated loose (about 3/8"). I tightened it back up, ran for another 20 mins then the engine shut down.and seized.....now I'm looking at an $1,800 rebuild....and want to make sure I know what caused it.

Coincidence? Same valve same engine?

Sounds very coincidental however, you won't know what the cause was until you tear it down (in my opinion).

pull the valves out see if one may have broken. and jammed motor

I thought I had seized a motor - turned out to be the jet unit - loose rave valves shouldn't be an issue. Good luck.
