Seat problem!

Hi guys. Just wondering if anyone has ever had any problem with the main seat coming off their ski? I had three people on mine today and naturally one person was holding onto the strap. We did a turn and as i punched the gas, they pulled down on the strap and the whole seat came off! Ripped out from under me!



It didnt just get ripped off the pin that it locks onto- it ripped the entire pin out of that black piece of plastic that sits above the engine. The pin was still in the seat!



I couldnt believe it had happened, considering the small load that was put on it.....

Unbelievable!....

I've never heard that before, ever. I'd go to www.seadoo.com and on the main page, on the top left, they have a contact us link. I'd give them a shout, because either there was a defect in this construction or this may be a "recall" type item on such a new ski.

:agree: I'd contact seadoo for a recall on the seat unit.

Well i rang the dealer today about my seat....

Got the standard workshop response "We'l need to look at it before we determine its a warranty"

Luckily she goes in for her 10 hour tommorow. See what happens i guess :s

I would push the subject big time! that shouldn't have broken in it's first 10 hrs of use!

Good news today. I dropped the ski off for its service/ repair. They rang me a few hours later after fixing the problem under warranty. Turns out the took the part they needed of a brand new ski to help me out

And here i was ready for the worst..... Looks like im back in business for easter

Still thinking of contacting brp here in aus though, cus as you said karl, it simply shouldnt have happened.
