Hi

Just took delivery of 1997 Challenger, mechanically seems Ok, just want to try and improve the cosmetic appearance of the boat.

What is the best option for getting the ground in dirt from the white seats and sun deck? I have tried the basic vinyl shampoo from Canadian Tire but does not do a great job, any other options?

Also, the bottom half of the hull (teal green) has faded in sun/water, have tried the standard wax/fibre glass restorer from Canadian Tire and although it has improved it slightly, I think it still could be better, any advice as to what to use to improve the colour?

Davo....Home Depot has this stuff called...Gel-Gloss, I'm sold on it. Takes the scuffs rite out, glosses,...etc, dig this stuff....

I got some gel coat polish from Sherwin Williams Automotive Paints worked great on my 96 whaite challenger looks almost new. Of corse you do had to polish your butt off with a buffer.

My thoughts exactly pollishing compound if not to bad. If bad you may need to use rubbing compound and you will have to work your but off. If you can find a machine that will not stop with a litle force that would help. I would just buy some cheap stuff but a good quality wax.

Yeah it was rubbing compound for gel-coats you do have to work your butt off but i tell you I can hardly see where the stickers was.

I did at first go to auto zone and buy some turtle wax rubbing compound and threw it in the trash. Think i payed 58.00 per gal of the sherwin williams stuff im just about done and got 3/4 gal left its real good stuff I tell yah.

You can goto any auto paint shop to find a good rubbing compound id stay away from retail shops like auto zone best to just flush your money if thats the case.
