Seal carrier question on 95 gtx

Just took my 95 gtx out of the lake after using it for the week on holidays and it was full of water right up to the engine mounting plate. THe drive shaft was just under water.

Before I drained it I saw it was dripping slowly where the drive shaft enters the hull.

I drained it and saw the Seal Carrier had come out of the rubber hose that it should be clamped inside. So I am assuming that is why it was leaking. The hose clamp that holds it in was totally loose and spins on the black hose. I recently had my dealer put a new boot on my drive shaft so I am guessing they didn't tighten this clamp and that is why the Seal Carrier popped out. The Seal carrier spins freely on the drive shaft so I don't think the bearings are seized. the dealer should have greased it all as well.

My question is do I slip it back in, tighten the hose clamp, grease the fitting and go for a ride, or has the fact it ran with the seal carrier loose destroyed the seal and messed up the bearings?

I would like to go on the water tomorrow and I am not confident in removing the pump myself so I could inspect it more carefully.

Do I take a chance or do I just go to the dealer and miss my ride

I would check to make sure the bearing is not stuck to the shaft and messed up up the insert. Those hoses are usually right enough of you forgot the hose clamp they won't leak and you said the bearing is going around the shaft which usually means the bearing froze the hose clam popped off.

The hose clamp didn't pop off it is just very loose so it was not holding anything. The seal carrier assembly (metal piece with bearings inside) spins freely on the drive shaft because it has popped out of the big black rubber housing that the two hose clamps are on. There is only a tiny portion still in the rubber housing because there is not enough space for it to come all the way out. If the bearings were seized I assume I would not be able to spin it. There is no damage to the housing. The only apparent damage is to the lip of the grease boot on the flywheel side. It was ground off a little right to the edge of the small clamp holding it snug to the driveshaft

The bearing doesn't really seize the needles start to fall apart which in turns the shaft wobbles and eats up the hull fitting which causes the ski to leak. I would just remove the drive shaft to check. you should have like 1-2" of plastic to slid that rubber hose over the hull fitting. That bearing and hull fitting hose are so tight it shouldn't move even without a clap unless the hose is weak or the drive shaft has been wobbling and rounding out the hull fitting. If the bearing is moving the rubber hose I would again check the drive shaft.
