Hi there,:ack:

I'm after a bit of advice with my '98 Xp Limited.
Last year I had to replace the exhaust Hoses (2 of them....one at the front of the ski, the other at the back)
Upon putting it all back together...Fired it up and blue exhaust Gasses pee'ing out the big exhaust clamp joint which holds the two big pipes together at the front by the engine.
Several times took it off, tried to align it up as best as possible - tried to pop it back together each time still pee'ing out blue smoke
I did put some exhaust gasket sealent stuff on it last year...but as water touched it started breaking/cracking up as it set's like cement this stuff.

Question is...why's it doing it? Is the gasket knackered? Is the Clamp Fecked? What should I do!?

I've taken the clamp off numerous times to try aligning it all back together...to the point where the thread is now starting to feck up so I've gotta stop.

Many Thanks in advance

Rob

If you took that apart you should have replaced the sealing ring and used a thin layer of Ultra Copper heat resistant sealant all around sealing ring. Make sure you have the clamp torqued to 10 lbf•ft.

Yes, I always use Ultra Copper Silicone. Also, I anneal the copper gasket before reusing it. This makes it softer.

Unless it's damaged, it'll be OK to reuse it. In 15 years as a PWC tech, I've yet to replace even one.
