I have a 2000 Seadoo that does not start. No beeps with the lanyard or anything. Put in a new battery but get nothing. It has sat idle for about 18 months. How do I check the 5.0 fuse? or this MPEM I keep reading about. Obviously I am a newbie with these things.

Thanks

Kent

Welcome to the seadoo forum Kent. Not sure what seadoo you have but in the MPEM,(Multi Purpose Electronic Module) is a 5 amp fuse. Make sure it isn't blown. Check all the fuses, and the main wire Positive+ and Ground- connections from the battery. You need 2 beeps to start the seadoo. It should at least turn over at this point. If not let us know what you found and we'll help get it going.

Karl,

Thanks for the reply. I changed all the fuses and I finally got 2 beeps. I then tried to start and got nothing. What do you suggest.

Thanks

Kent

Kent, I would follow the positive wire from the battery to the MPEM,(Multi Purpose Electronic Module) box and open it up. Inside is a solenoid for the starter. Use a 14 guage insulated wire do a quick jump across the two main terminals and see if the starter rolls over. If it does it is the solenoid that is bad. Keep us posted on the out come.

i'm also a total newb to PWC, i get no beeps however I can get it to crank and it only does it intermittently in short bursts (no more than 2 seconds of cranking) it gets close to starting sometimes and then immediately stops before cutting off
I have a 99 gsx limited
any suggestions?

i also have a 20 amp fuse near my MPEM, this seadoo was modded by a previous owner and the guy I got it from does know his ____ from a hole in the ground. It has the k&n looking filter on the carbs, oil injectors removed and these are just simple things I am able to tell by reading on here and looking at the ski. I am so bummed we bought it off the guy my brother rode it a 100 feet and it died, hasn't started since. so again any help is much appreciated
