I am one inch away from Per-Ordering a Seadoo Switch pontoon.
Checking in here with you folks, for any advice, warnings, or tips before I pull the trigger.
My wife is in full support of this purchase.
I feel like I'm in a Twilight Zone episode. This has never, EVER, happened.
So, pros? Cons?
Let me have it...
-az-
BTW, looking at the Sport 170hp model, 13 footer. (small is why she likes it. I know....)

I would say if you have the support of the wife, buy it as quickly as you can. I don't think there is a ton of feedback out there on these just yet, but they certainly look nice. Are you planning to do water sports, or just mostly cruise around the lake? That would be my only question for a boat that size.

That is what I am trying to change my order to. But my order now is the 230 sport 18 ft. My wife does not want me to change, because she wants the swim deck. What is price. Some dealers are over MSRP or you have to buy 5000 dollars in extras

I order to 230 sport 18ft also. I think my dealer is going to be msrp and do not have to buy 5000 dollars in extras. The dealer in my town you do have to buy extras. we will see

I've got the 18' Cruise (170hp) o/o. Also told July/August time frame. Reserved at MSRP no dealer add-ons. They did charge A LOT for freight and assembly, almost 4k if i remember right. I'm sure that's nearly all profit for the dealer too. No way to talk them down on that, they also said they only had 1 18' cruise and 1 13' sport rsvp left.

From what I can tell

PROS: Small/lightweight craft for easy towing with midsize SUV. Seems to be fairly beginner friendly as this will be our first boat.

CONS: I live in Key West so will be using it mainly for coastal cruising and sand bar patrols. I am a little worried on how it will far in rougher seas so there may be days I cannot take it out.

I just got what iI was told was the last allocation for my dealer here in Michigan to be filled at a price of 39K OTD for the 18’ 170hp Cruise. Delivery to be around June/July 2022 I was told. From what I read above it sounds like it’s just the base cruise with just their included options for that price. Sales tax here is 6%. Oh well. I really like everything I see about the switch. Handling, maintenance, performance, configurable, trailering. It checks all my boxes for having fun on the water. I’m not too keen on the 230hp supercharged version due to maintenance costs on those and things that can go very bad quickly if those washers explode and puke chunks into your crankcase.
I have a ‘97 25’ Crest Savannah Gold w/40hp Evinrude (450 hours) that runs great and is in good condition sans funiture and a brand new bunk trailer that I’m selling this spring before getting the switch. That 25’ party barge was too much to trailer around to the many inland lakes we have here. It IS a nice riding pontoon with the larger 24” toons on it but I want the versatility that the Switch offers for transporting, fun, fishing and just putting around. PERFECT.
But I can’t seem to get a list of what options are included for that 39K price. If the dealers charge 4K for assembly and prep then all you get is the basic 18‘ 170hp Cruise with 2 rear seats, no corner tables a bolster, the Garmin, a wind deflector,, a swim platform. It’s NOTHING like what is shown on the website.
I’m willing to pay to get what I want it’s just a bit deceptive either by BRP or any dealer to lead you to believe that picture on the website represents the “basic” Cruise model before adding any options.

It's very confusing. If you go through the "build" process on the website, it says there is only 1 seat included in the package. My dealer insists that the boats are equipped as pictured - however I am skeptical. My dealer is a large dealer and hosted the on-water show and tell last fall - so they should know. Yes, according to the photo, you should get seating for 8 + captain's chair. photo shows 4 corner tables. bimini top. There are many videos that say certain items are standard when they likely are not. (anchor, double bimini) Regardless, congrats on getting a 2022! Most/many allocations are taken - so I have a deposit on a 2023.
I love everything I see about it; however the 170 vs 230 debate rings in my head. (my boys ski alot, including barefoot). I also have one concern: how to get on and off the boat. we have one family member who is not very agile and that front ledge is narrow.....
