I recently had both engines rebuilt on my Speedster. I am having magor issues with the engines wanting to run while in water. The right engine has now totally gave up, the starter engages with a clunk so engine is locked in some way. I have removed the plugs and tried to crank the engine by hand......it is totally solid. What does anyone think will be the outcome of this? Crank shaft broken? Bottom end away? What other things can i do to try and get to the bottom of this?

Thanks in advance!

You need to remove the starter as the Bendix may be stuck engaged. If it still doesn't turn over once the starter is removed, then remove the pump and see if it turns over by hand.

Check and make sure that you do not have an object wedged in the impeller. I had a small piece of metal wedged in there and it demonstrated the same symptoms you are describing. Once removed everything was as good as new. You might get lucky!
