HI , does anybody know of a cheap way to make or buy straps to lift a 2001 gtx di, saw some on websites for a couple hundred bucks, any helps appreciated,

They're plenty strong, I lift boats that way using straps, a gantry crane and a forklift all the time for bottom cleaning and swapping out trailers, unloading new boats brought in by flatbed. I don't advise leaving a full sized boat suspended that way for long periods of time, up to a couple days is okay.

For the bow, run your rope down one side of the bow, through the eye, then up the other side, like a cradle. I do it this way not b/c the eye isn't strong enough, but b/c it stabilizes the boat's bow from being too tippy.

Yes... they are strong enough... but make sure your straps are in good shape and are OK for the weight !!!! In more than one case... I've had straps split. Generally... I will double up everything for safety.

i'm a little curious, besides maybe doing some gelcoat repair on the bottom, what is the reason for having to lift a ski ?

I've been riding for years, and I've never had a reason to lift one.

It's strange, we all want to be able to but normally don't have a great need. I will have an electric which in my garage when I finally get to where I am going. (I already own the winch) LOL
