I am building an airplane out of a seadoo 581 engine and wanted to know if anyone knows if you can run them with a sealed cooling system??? Not exactly a normal question i know but people who use these motors year after year may know something that will help me.

Thank you

I'm not sure it is feasible, do to the fact that there is no water pump on the engine. It uses pressure from the jet to feed the cooling system. I think you would be better off using an engine from a snowmobile, as they have their own complete cooling system, with an engine driven water pump. You could even use an air cooled snowmobile engine to further simplify the project.

Yes, you can use a Doo motor with a sealed cooling systems. It will require an electric water pump or some sort of belt operated pump with a pulley system but yes, it will work.
