I found a stand up ski trailer local for pretty cheap with new tires. Has permanent tags on it but no title. asking 225 obo so I figure I can get it for less than 200. My question is, has anyone used this type of trailer for their seadoos? It has rollers on it instead of bunks. I also only have one working seadoo at the moment so I would have just that on the one.

Edit: he sold it. But my question still stands. They are cheaper than other trailers.

Anything with a "V" hull will likely hit the rear of the trailer before the hull hit the rollers.

If I bought it, I would cut "V's" in between the rollers and find a way to make the roller rails where they would pivot. That may make it not worth buying, but at 200 bucks it is hard to go wrong...

A stand up trailer is very small. You may get a "Square Nose" seadoo on it... or even possibly and "X4" type... but anything else will be hanging WAY off the back.

The reason they go cheap is that regular skis don't fit.

Trailers are all about capacity and fitting the shape of your hull. If those rollers were mounted on U-bolts and risers that could be adjusted, you probably could have made it fit.

If it was a homemade trailer, then you may question if it was built with the capacity for the weight of your ski. Since it was designed to hold two standups, that probably was not the issue.

For any other trailers, just look at how the bunks/rollers are mounted. My first double waverunner trailer had totally adjustable bunks both horizontal and vertical as well as angles of the bunks. I actually carred my GP1200 and a 2-man bassboat on my double trailer safely. (it was 10ft boat)

Good luck!

(yup and I pulled it all with my Grand Am, I was stupid once too)

I am looking at another one tomorrow. Same exact trailer just different tool box on the front. If the tires are good and it's not rusty I'll grab it and make it work. My buddy has a spare set of bunks that I can have. After seeing that grand am, I don't feel so bad with my turd ranger.

That was probably my first tow vehicle and it was when I actually learned about tow ratings. I was pushing it, and from my posts you will see I am a big advocate for safe towing.

The 1995 GA was rated at 1000lbs. So one ski was not an issue. The puddle jumper was plastic and weighed very little. But I am sure geared up with batteries, fuel and as much beer as I drank back in the day, I was right up against the limit. I moved to a GrandPrix right after that car.

Good luck with your trailer. Just watch the clearance of that cross bar. You would hate to crack your hull the first time you pull up on it.

Absolutely, I'll take a ton of measurement before I mount the bunks. Thanks for the info.

I'm not positive on my Rangers towing cap, but it's a 4.0l and a 5 speed manual. I think I'll be just fine, just never towed before.

Do be sure to balance the trailer properly. A stand up ski usually has the engine up front, so the axle is in the middle or favoring the front of the trailer. While SeaDoos have mid mounted engines, only the fuel tank level gives the ski frontal mass, they are mostly rear-heavy.

Long story short, too little tongue weight and that trailer will wag its tail like an excited dog!

Well I ended up finding a better deal on a single trailer with a box. Picked it up for 250.

Can't upload pics from my phone.
