I have 2011 GTX 215, current hours 520! I have all the recommended maintenance done as scheduled. The super charger has been rebuilt 3 times at 100 hrs and at 205 hours, at 310 hrs and the last time I went too far past at 420 and had to replace it. So just having the new one rebuilt for the first time. Ski is run pretty hard in fresh water only. If my teenager is not on it at WOT and jumping waves, I am pulling 3 kids on a tube or a wake boarder. We pretty much ride a 100 hours a year. I purchased in 2013 with about 50 hrs on it.

Just wondering with regular maintenance how long I expect this engine to last?

The 155 engine has been known to reach into the many hundreds of hours and into the thousands of hours. The 185 and 215 engines do pretty well even though they are SC engines. It has little to do with the SC itself, it has more to do with how people can ride the engine. Most will get into the throttle pretty well on SC engines. For that reason, they tend to go less hours than the 155.

I have seen others post that they have been in the 700 hour range for the 215 engine.

But it really comes down to the user. If it has an occasional high speed run and is well maintained, there is no reason that you can not approach the 1000 hour mark.

The 4-tec is a very reliable engine. As we add SC and salt water, you will see failures a bit early in their life as compared to the 155 engine and any fresh water only engine.

Thanks for the reply. I wonder if I should consider a trade now, while there is some life left in it. Or just ride it until it fails then sale it as a broken ski or for parts. Not sure I want to put a new engine in an older ski, just to have to repair or replace other failing components on down the road. I am not the mechanic so I have to pay for services in addition to parts.
