Hey guys im a new member although ive been following the site for a while now. I thought i would put my two cents in about dealers. Down here in little old New Zealand we decided to get a 08 gtx wake, so we put down our deposit and were told it would arrive within a week along with another two that had supposibly been ordered. But..... we got a call 3 days later saying that they did'nt have any so we asked what the delay would be and they said no there isnt any so.. seeing that we had paid our deposit on the ski and the dealer should have checked if there was any before taking it , seadoo decided to give us a free upgrade to a gtx limited with a wake pole with a few extra goodies included and our dealer got a scolding. The ski is absolutely brilliant its 2 weeks old and has 15hrs on it already. so we got let down in one way but the gtx limited more than makes up for it.

p.s. seadoosnipe and karl you guys are awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dealers....

If you've read my posts on this subject of dealers, then you know I don't have much respect or faith in the franchises that Seadoo uses to distribute their product.

Like you said, all they had to do was check before taking your money. Oh no, all they could see were the $$$ signs.

I'm glad to see the deal actually worked out in a buyers favor for a change! Great for you. You oughta enjoy that thing.

Does it get cold in New Zealand? I'm looking for a place that has year round, good temps without living in the Caribbean......

Weather down here is perfect!

the weather over here is pretty choice all year round (i live in auckland) the people are nice the boaties are even better and the fishings awsome , great place for kids:hat: its 70*farenheit right now at 3pm.

I feel sorry for all the people who have been ripped by seadoo dealers especially that member who bought the 230 wake. He paid big money for it and has been screwed around ever since and its not his fault the dealer screwed up the assembly and made a bodgy job of the boat. When you pay over $50,000 usd for a BRAND NEW BOAT (EVERYTHING) should be PERFECT not second class.

anyway i reckon you'd love it down here snipe

keep up the good work

oh and i forgot to add. the houses over here are going cheap cheap cheap now with the global downturn. Great time to buy a near new house for next to nothing

Sailed the seas...

In the Navy, I sailed the seven seas but don't rightly remember going to New Zealand. I'll have to look at my global map to see if I was there. From what you say, I'd love to visit if I haven't been there.

Here in the U.S., you see lots of advertising by the cruise lines to travel to New Zealand.

the navy

how many years were you in service? If you came for a visit to new zealand i dont think you'd ever want to leave:cheers:

Did you get the 10hr service done? if not be sure to. also if its supercharged make sure to change out the ceramic washers, Even though your has the 2008updated ones they still can fail.

:agree: definately get the 10hr service done...you don't want to give the dealership any ammo if something goes wrong! They will try their best to get out of warranty work.

10hr service

hi sportster joel yes we did get the 10hr service done and i did know about the past years supercharger washers failing there all titanium coated steel now aren't they?

The new washers are ceramic coated steel. I wouldn't worry too much about replacing them just yet....they do not disintegrate and cause the same problems as the pure ceramics do. I have read about people having problems with the new washers but I haven't met anyone first hand. I personally don't see the risk to reward ratio of replacing them (it is not cheap and even if you remove the charger yourself it will still run you a couple hundred). Just wait it out until you do a SC rebuild and get a kit with the metal washers.

I have the a 2007 with pure ceramics and they still haven't gone with 88 hours of pure abuse. I have just made sure that I only use mineral oil.

Hope this helps!

Matt
