Ok so i just fixed the gas gauge on my 2000 seadoo challenger 2000 with a 240 hp efi engine, so after i fixed the gas gauge by replacing the sending unit i decided to take the boat out for a spin and everything was fine until i heard one long continious beeping sound, so of course i shut down the engine and start it back up after that it was good for another 5 min than again the beeping sound returned so again i shut it down, at that point i turned it on again and drove the boat slowly at about 2000-2500 rpm for about 15 min to the dock and the sound didnt return until i went up to 5000 rpm again?
Any help is much appreciated- thanks
Here are the different beeps. From what you are describing I would check the Jet Pump intake, if that gets clogged you will not get enough cooling water. I have sucked up enough seaweed to cause the same symptoms you have described. Just to be safe I would also make sure that both the main oil tank and the small remote oil tanks have oil.
Power Up/System Check Single Beep
Low Oil 4 Beep... 2 Minutes Off
Over Heat Continuous Beep
Engine Guardian System is activated. Power limit will vary with level of overheat. Shift
into neutral and check for a steady stream of water coming out of the water indicator
hole. If no water is coming out of the water indicator hole or flow is intermittent, stop engine
and check water intake holes for obstruction. The Guardian system must be RESET before engine
will operate at higher speeds. Moving throttle lever back to idle resets the system.
Water In Fuel 4 Beep... 2 Minutes Off
Over Speed Continuous Beep
Throttle Sensor Failure Continuous Intermittent Beeping
Oil Level is Critically Low Continuous Engine Guardian System is activated. Power
limit will limit engine speed. The oil level is critically
low in the engine mounted oil reservoir
tank. Refill the engine mounted oil reservoir tank
along with the remote oil tank.
Oil Pump Failure Continuous Engine Guardian System is activated. Power
limit will limit engine speed. The warning horn is
activated if the oil pump should ever stop functioning
electrically. No lubricating oil is being
supplied to the engine.
