Seadoo Challenger 2000, no spark and no fuel?

Hi,

I have recently become the proud new owner of a seadoo challenger 2000 (year 2000)

Only 11 hours since an engine rebuild but I have no fuel and no spark. I think I have traced the problem to the trigger plate, it has a crack in it and I have no continuity between and of the 6 cables. This would explain the spark but would this fault stop the fuel too?

Can anyone help me?

I don't expect lack of ignition signal has anything to do with mechanical fuel delivery, does this boat have an electric fuel pump(s)?

Say for instance the fuel shutoff valve was closed, there would be no fuel in that case. Or there could be an air leak in the fuel line from the tank, normally the pump on the engine pumps fuel up hill from the tank and the fuel line pressure between pump and tank is somewhat less than atmospheric pressure.

Therefore, the fuel pump might be sucking air in the case there's a leaky fitting. Pressure test: First, remove the fuel cap from the refueling filler pipe to avoid pressurizing the fuel tank then try pressurizing the fuel line back towards the tank by disconnecting the line from the engine and forcing air at low pressure (less than 5psi) back towards the tank. You should hear the air bubbling up from the fuel pickup in the bottom of the tank (unless there's a one-way check valve in the fuel tank outlet fitting, many factory Seadoos were apparently exempted from the customary USCG required anti-syphon check valve).

Welll.... you are on 2 strikes here. (as far as help)

1) you are asking about a boat, and posted in the PWC section.
2) an '00 year 2000 has a mercury engine in it. The PWC guys have no idea about those engines.

I'll move it to the right section.

BUT... before I do... what engine do you have?? That boat could have come with a 210 hp with carbs... or the 240 EFI.
