just finished winterizing.stab in gas and fogged.i only had engine running for 35 or 45 minutes since rebuilding .never had a chance to try it out this year.when i was running on the garden hose the cylinders stayed cold to hand feel. just wodering if someone could tell me how warm these things run normaly when working loaded. other rotax that i have seen had thermostat and run constant temp (snowmobile).

thinking ahead till spring... dam its going to be a long winter.

No thermostat!....

The 2 strokes have no thermostat. The water temperature variates according to the temp of the water........

The temp sensor on the heads sound a constant alarm at just over 200*F

i know there is no thermostat, but was wondering in the spring say( may )when water is cold will engine be ok if i tried it out? will the engine run properly in a wide variety of water temps and still be ok?

You will be ok running it in colder water and warm water. As long as the water in the lake is not like 200 degrees or anything it will be ok.

If you find that place where the water is that hot, let us know so we can stay away from there. :)

The engine isn't going to be bothered by too warm or too cold water. They are designed to work in any conditions found on Earth....now on Mars, that may be another story.

i'll let you know if there are seadoo:rofl:s in hell ,because im going tonight(work 12 hour nights) NO SEADOOS THERE EITHER||||

I hope you did not run it 35-40 minutes on the hose. It can overheat the impeller oil or something like that. 5 mins max on the hose.

It has to have water running through the impeller, for extended run times.
