Recently bought a 2001 RX, and was wondering if there is anyway to modify it so that it shoots a jet of water up in the air like polaris skis do.
thanks

Umm....... I think it's just the Yamaha's that do that. All that is is the "tell tail" stream that let's you know the cooling system is not clogged. Seadoo has the same but it doesn't shoot it up in the air. Just in the back and a small one in the front.

No way to do it on your doo except trade it in on a Yamaha.

yep. just yamaha.. pretty gay actually. kind of like riding a kiddie quad with the little orange flag sticking up on the back, or riding a real quad.

Water jet...

The little stream you see shooting into the air is from a small plastic insert into the top of the jet nozzle. They were designed for skiers to be seen by boaters. I think, when skis first came out, boaters were running over them like cars over motorcycles.....

The spray is called the "rooster tail". From what I"ve read, it appears there isn't anyone who wants this so a kit may be hard to find. The reason is because at low speeds, with the wind at your back, you get soaking wet. I did read about someone that wanted the rooster tail so he took a 1/2 copper elbow (90*) and soldered a copper brace on it to attach to the nozzle. I dont' know if it's worth all the trouble but I can see it being done.

:agree: with Robin. This is a kit I'm sure you can purchase somewhere....

Rooster tail

SNIPE is correct. The rooster tail is so the ski can be seen and has nothing to do with the cooling system.
