I just bought a 2003 GTI. They guy I bought it off of used the Sea-Doo oil for the oil injection. I called the dealer and of course the gave me the "sea-doo oil is specially designed for the motors....." This is my first ski so I don't want to blow it up but can I not just run a good 2 stroke oil? Also if I can and do change over to 2 stroke oil can I mix it with the Sea-Doo oil that is already in there or would I need to drain the tank.

Thanks

all I know is mine runs better with the sea doo oil.....its mineral oil and low ash...you'll notice the engine runs allot smoother with it...i think if you buy a pack of 3 gallons its 15% anywhere

Theres injector oil, and premix oil...The oil resivoir provides oil to both crankcase and oil pump, which injects int othe intake manifold.
If you want to go premix, then you'll need to use premix only oil, at 40-1 mix..(16oz for every 5gals)., but you'll will need to block off the oil pump, whether you get a blockoff plate, or plug the oil line up, going to the pump, inwhich, its the one w/ the filter. BUT..you need to either leave the resivoir in there with other 2 lines attached, or connect those 2, with oil inside, since the crankcase needs oil, using injector oil for the case...

All the respected members here have told me to not mix brands of oil together. IF you put a different oil in there you have to drain the old oil out, purge the lines and bleed the air out. Do Not use TC-W3 outboard motor oil. The bottle must say API TC on it also. I do not run the Seadoo brand oil but I would if there was a dealer where I live, the closest one is an hour away. I'm using the QuickSilver Syn. from WalMart. If I was you I would keep running the seadoo oil in that is in there. Find out if it is Mineral or Syn though because you cannot mix the two.

Here is the correct oil and fuel to run in your seadoos;

Use High quality low ASH API TC Injector oil.
Do Not use NMMA TC-W, TC-W2 or TC-W3 outboard motor oils or other ash less type 2 cycle oil. Avoid mixing different brands of API TC oil as resulting chemical reaction will cause severe engine damage. Never mix Mineral or synthetics oil together.

Never use fuel containing more than 10 % alcohol,( Methanol or Ethanol) as severe damage will occur. The minimum of 87 octane is recommended for most engines.
