Sea Doo Jet Boat Mercury V6 EFI motor. Shuts off at 5500 RPM

I had my Sea Doo Jet Boat out yesterday no problems. Went to take it out today and when I tried to accelerate over 5000 to 5500 RPM my motor died and shut off. I could run it at 3000-4000 RPM without much problems. Whenever I tried to accelerate it died.

I changed Water seperater Fuel filter.

Any Ideas?

Might as well replace the #1 filter on the lift pump, too.

Do you have the throttle guardian in the driver's helm box? That can cause problems. It is about 1 x 3 x 4 inches.

Find the black w/ yellow stripe wire on top of engine, aft of flywheel. That is the kill wire. Disconnect it and test again.
