Sea Doo dealers closing up.

2007 I seen our local SeaDoo dealer close in Lancaster, Ca. This year Bakersfield dropped theirs. How many more are dropping out there? :willy_nilly:

I had one up the street that closed last year and the next closest 30 miles away is also closed up. Not many dealers around this part of the midwest anymore.

Sad to see.. may be partly due to their exit from the boating industry.

I wonder if Sea Doo's parent company is being unreasonable to dealers. The Bakersfield carries several different manufacturers (Harley, Yamaha, Honda, Polaris, Victory) and motorcycles etc and are still open. But no more SeaDoo.

Funny about that....

A year or so ago... we had a thread about "What do you want to see in a new Seadoo". My response was "A more basic ski, without all the electronic crap"

At one time... a PWC was truly a water Go-Kart. Anymore... they are a high-end, high-performance boat... and they are more expensive than most people can deal with. The economy sux... and people just don't want to spend the $$$.

I love my ski's... and unless I have real money issues... There will always be a couple in my garage. But, I have a hard time swallowing the price tag for a new one, especially since my riding season is only 4 to 5 months. AND... that's why it's hard to support dealers.

With that said... Lancaster, and Bakersfield are really dirtbike/ATV areas. I grew up in SoCal, and I can't even think of any close water. It's hard to sell a product, when it's +1hr drive to play with it.
