I noticed when you put the gear handle (F,N,R handle) when I put it in forward it locks the left motor's handle that controls the speed to lock. If I try to put it into forward gear while the left motors control handle is in forward it will not let me take it out of neutral. But the right motor's control handle will move no matter what. This all happened while the motors were off. Any suggestions? I know I didn't use advanced terms but I don't know what they are called. I just bought it. Thanks for the help.

The throttle and shifter are interlocked. The boat will not go in F or R unless it is at idle. Throttle all the way back. Then once you have it in gear, and you throttle it up, it wont switch gears unless you have it back to idle. Takes a little getting use to. Both throttles should work the same. I woulndt worry until you take it out and see how it acts on the water. Did you do a water test when you bought it?

No I did not do a water test. The engine needs to be serviced first. The left throttle will not throttle up even when in forward. But the right will. It unlocks when I put it back into neutral.

Hope you got the boat for like 1000 bucks. This is exactly why you HAVE to water test a boat. How do you know the engine is even good. You say it has to be serviced, but then you complain it wont throttle up. What needs serviced? Does it start?

It starts. And yes I got it for very cheap. It doesn't HAVE to be serviced, but I choose to before I take it out on the water.

It won't throttle up because it is locked for some reason. Other than that it starts and runs fine. Sometimes if I get lucky it won't lock and I can throttle up and that engine does work.

Ok, so that engine does start, take it out on the warer and see what it does. A video would help. What you are describing sounds normal, except the right throttle lever should do the same thing.

I think the lock is out of place. I am going to look at it soon and I will post a video soon. (Today or Tomorrow)
