I have seen this come up a few times and always comes back to using the seadoo synthetic oil. I have a 99 XPL with the 951 carb. Running premix, What I want to know is if the Amsoil interceptor or injector synthetic oil will work for me and if it's any good. I work at a Ford dealer and can get this oil easily and at a lower cost so that is why I want to use it. Thanks in advance. Here is a link to the amsoil.

Here is the basics on the oil required for you seadoo. Use High quality low ASH API TC Injector oil.
Do Not use NMMA TC-W, TC-W2 or TC-W3 outboard motor oils or other ash less type 2 cycle oil. Avoid mixing different brands of API TC oil as resulting chemical reaction will cause severe engine damage. Never mix Mineral or synthetics oil together.

I only use seadoo oils in my personal seadoos...to save a buck or 2 doesn't make sense to me when it comes to oils and what's recommended.

I think you are the only one that answers posts on here. Does anyone else know anything about these? Not that you are bad or anything. I can't believe you are the only expert on here?

Another choice but you're better off with Seadoo Oil

I don't consider myself an expert, but I did do a little checking and found an oil that meets API-TC requirements and is claimed by the manufacturer to be suitable for Seadoos: Quicksilver Mercury Marine Full Synthetic. Here is a source: http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wc...L=true&storeNum=6&subdeptNum=169&classNum=398

Problem is, the cost is $15/quart, so a gallon of those is at least $10 more than I pay for a gallon of Seadoo oil at the dealer.

AMSOIL Interceptor AIT Oil is claimed by AMSOIL to be API-TC and to be a replacement for pre-mix and DI use in both snowmobiles and PWCs, including Seadoos. I found it for about $34/gallon or $10 less than Seadoo's oil.

Bottom line, you can pay about $10/gal more or less to get oil that wasn't made specifically for the Seadoo's engine. I'm sticking with the factory stuff (even if right now, I have about $20 worth in the bilge due to a leaky tank...)

Quick Silver...

I use the Quick Silver Full Synthetic in my 787. I switched it over last year at the end of the season. I'm on my second gallon now.

The oil requirements for all 2 cycle Rotax engines is the same. The 2000-2004 Mercury M-2 optimax uses the same oil. The 4-TEC's are 4 stroke and use an XP-S 10w-40w, 4 stroke oil.

I did research on the AMSOIL line of oils a few months back, the results are in the forum. I've spoken with a tech representative of AMSOIL by phone and from what I've gathered, they are one of the top of the line oil distributers of oil for both pleasure and racing engines.

Ok. I'll have to go to a Seadoo dealer here and pick some up. I need to know what size fuel line to use. I forgot.
