Sbt wear ring

Just got my SBT wear rings in and I have a quick question. I noticed that the wear rings have a side that is flat and a side that has a small indent do I push the flat side in leaving the indented side to push onto the neoprene gasket? Or vise versa? Also do I need to apply any kind of loctite to the wear ring pre pushing it in? Thanks your help is appreciated!!!

The end with the grooves goes toward the neoprene washer. When I installed mine I didn't use any sealer on the wear ring.

Ok thanks got them in using the freezer method worked great thanks for they advise on how to put them in right!
