Is there a way to keep my stereo settings from being deleted every time I turn off the main battery switch? How would you wire it? Right now when I turn the battery to "on" I can use the stereo so im assuming the red and yellow wire are connected together which turns on the unit.

Most modern radios have a "Memory" wire and a "Power" wire.

They can be wired together, and when they are, it will NOT retain memory. Take a look at the radio and see if you have another wire spliced in with your hot wire. If so, that is likely the "Memory" wire. You could wire it to an always hot wire as it draws milliamps.

The 2 power wires are indeed tied to the same source, which is controlled by the battery switch. It will lose the memory every time. Ive hear of some guys just using a 9 volt battery hooked to the memory wire. For me, I just use an ipod for music anyway, so i dont mind it losing the prefilled stations, and i dont care much about the other settings because the amp is what controls the sound for me. I just readjust it each time if i wanna make some changes.

I'll be doing the same, I don't feel like messing with it. The only think I would adjust is the bass level and most radio stations don't come in clear on some of the lakes that are not near the city anyways. Talked myself out of more work on this I think. lol
