Hi guys new to this,I’ve got a 2015 rxt260 with 135 hrs on it,it’s due for supercharger overhaul at 200 hrs was speaking with various people bout the C3 bearings,I’ve been told the steel cages aren’t very good,any advice
There are no steel cages as they are plastic. They get brittle over time from the heat cycles and they let go. If you are lucky, all the parts stay in the race. If you are unlucky they come out and end up in the PTO housing. You will also get a possible touchdown, which is the compressor wheel coming in contact with the housing.
