I have finished my build in 18' boat.i have a lot of cavitation on low and midrange.would a impeller for a seadoo boat be a better option?i can turn max rpm's,it does not grab like it should when accelerating.i have been thinking about dual impeller also.you guys are great and have been a big help with all of the other problems I have faced

Need to see the underside where the pump and ride plate are to see where the cavitation is coming from.

IMG_0850[1].JPGIMG_0923[1].JPGI do not have pics of tunnel after I built up even with intake grate with uhmw plastic, but it is all even with intake now.boat is shown on top of 4x6 wood below tunnel.

I would venture to guess that your design allows for a lot of air to get pulled into the pump when first getting under way. Lots of hard edges and such.

I guess I will cut tunnel out in winter and put intake even with boat bottom.may still try dual impeller.thanks for input,it's always B O A T bust out another thousand!!

Maybe throw some seam sealer or silicon on the edges to smooth things out to see if it helps alleviate the cavitation before you cut the existing tunnel out.
