Color codes....
Since there has been alot of interest in the colors of the watercraft, I wanted to make a couple responses to this thread. There are reasons for the colors being what they are, just like my Challenger in green and if you see one that looks like my boat but it's yellow, then you actually see a Sportster.......for that year anyway. Colors change as years change.
But the colors of the Sea-Doo craft are all selected for reasons. That tells a manufacturer or repair person alot about what type ski or boat you have without them even asking you questions. There are usually a couple choices but for the most part, what you see is what you get. I’ve found that a different color scheme for the same craft is because it’s a craft thats sold around the world. The reason for that is because of the emission and noise standards in the U.S are different in other parts of the world. So a Sea-Doo sold in China for instance, might cost a couple dollars less because some of the emission standard functions of the engine can be emitted. But you can't bring and license it in the U.S. The colors for the 2008 RXT and RXP-X is called “hyper silver”. Both are equipped with the 255 horse 4-TEC but the RXT is a 3 seater, the RXP is the sport 2 seat.
That awesomely colored RXP that you see in viper red, is actually designed to be a bit slower than the RXP-X and the RXT. It comes stock with the 215 or 155 horse power engine.
The viper red RXP that you see in Meirvin’s post is not a stock Sea-Doo. It’s a custom craft done by Riva. This craft, although awesome looking, is not the fastest on the market. At the moment, the Riva have 3 different categories in customizing your PWC…….so, if you’d like to pay a little extra molah, then you can make your Doo any way you want it!.........
