I bought a brand new 2010 RXP-X 255 last year and I'm thinking to trade it in for a 2011 RXT-X as 260 what do you guys think ?

should I keep my rxp or trade it for the Rxt?

What are your goals for the PWC? What do you want out of it? Looking for a more comfortable ride, or just a little more power?

I would like little in both I understand that the RXPX is fast because I own one but I feel for the price difference between the the RXT and the RXP you get more features from the RXT for the money

RXP is plain has no extra features basic RPM and little more horse power +VTS and no breaking system like the RXT but I just feel that it should have more useful features for a $13,999 priced jetski

If you are looking for additional features, have you considered something like the GTX-iS? There are a ton of additional features for this SeaDoo. I'm moving this thread over to 4-stroke PWC section.

Joe,

I have the same dilema. I just bought a 06 RXP and just about bought a 08 RXP-X but thought before jumping the gun to check out the RXT-X. I don't know how to make up my mind on this.

Is the RXT that much bigger?

Definitely bigger. It depends on what you want out of your PWC. Are you into carving, absolute best accelleration, and hitting some waves for a little air? If so, the more nimble RXP platform is the best you can buy.

Want to go longer distances fast? Hard to beat the way the RXT/GTX handles rougher waters compared to the RXP. Also, you need a 3 seater to do any wake boarding.

Really just depends on what you are into.

ill tell you my story quick. last month somebody advertised to sell his rxp x and thats what i was looking for! so i purchased it.. then when he brought it to me it ended up being a RXT X and not the RXP X i didnt know what to think at first because i actually did want the rxp x. anyways first off let me tell you the RXT X is huge! its length 330 cm.. its almost the size of a small boat lol

not what i thought your typical jet ski would look like.
but lets talk performance, if what you want is to pull and tow friends or family on tubes skis etc.. then this is the one for you, its really hands down the best! you dont feel the waves that much it brushes them off like nothing! now if you want a jetski to ride alone and to do tricks and turns and just be crazy on, then the RXP X is what you should stick with, but i can tell you i have no regrets with my RXT X it really is an amazing machine

Hope this helps in some way

Back Water VS Open Water ....

:coolgleam:RXP-X vs. RXT-X aS.

It's night and day. As wiser men above have noted, the two-seat RXP-X is the machine for carving and lightweight out of hole performance. The weight difference between the two craft is a little over a hundred pounds. While one is listed at 255 and the other at 260 they have essentially the same power train. The larger RXT-X is heavier and when you go with the active suspension option the weight difference is a bit more. If you're riding open water in 3-5 footers, the larger active suspension is the way to go. If you're riding back water with minimal chop, carving turns, the shorter boat is the one to have.

I own both a '08 and a '10 RXT-X. The '08 is the three seat version of your boat. The extra's on the newer model are cool. I like the fly-by wire system, and having a break. Relocation of the battery and a hinged seat are not that big of deal. The handle bars allow more adjustability. The newer hull handles the chop a little better and the gloss black looks great both on the trailer or in the water. Are there any drawbacks to the newer design. Yes, there are a couple. Storage is water tight but its small, second speed is governed by gps on the new models.

Nice summary. The fly-by-wire design is very nice, as is the new braking system. Riding an aS this past summer was a blast...definitely a premier open-water pwc.

PWCMuscle has the speed control override modules for about $250. They aren't listed on the website yet, but send an email through the site and you'll get hooked up.
