running issues 98 gtx lmtd

hey guys, new to the site and/or sea doo pwc's. please help! i have a 98 gtx limited, starts up and idles great, all gauges ok, no lights on dash. i checked the battery, and it has 12.6 volts not running, when running it will rise with throttle actuation. gas and oil are full, fuel filter is clean. HERES THE ISSUE: if a quickly snap the throttle it's ok, but if you slowly roll onto the throttle, as soon as it gets to 3000 rpm, it dies out and can be immediately restarted. oncie in a while when this happes, the dash will say "12v low" for a second. any ideas or things to try? the carbs have been rebuilt, the fuel filters replaced, new spark plugs have been installed. thanks for any ideas

I too have a 98 gtx ltd. I purchased it new and its been a great ride. Did you have any luck with your gtx problem? Heres a possible solution to your stalling problem, as there are many possiblities. I'm wondering if you gtx is being starved for fuel because the vent lines and/or fuel system are clogged. Heres something you might try. After it dies on you, remove the fuel cap. Listen for a big woosh of pressure when you remove the cap. Put the cap back on. Now try running the ski and see if it developes full power. If it runs normally for a while and then dies later, its posible your fuel vent/check valves are clogged and need to be replaced. See if that helps.
