Hey guys.
im new to sea doo’s. Just bought a 2006 rxt with low hours. I brought it home changed the oil and filter and wanted to fire it up to see how it was running because the previous owner said it had been running a bit rough the last time he ran it. I didn’t get an owners manual with it so The proper way to run it on the trailer was a bit unclear tome at the time so I put a garden house in the jet pump intake and fired it up with the hose turned wide open. I knew the system was a closed loop cooling system so all I was trying to do was water the jet pump. What I didn’t realize waswater was used for the wet exhaust. So I only ran it for about thirty seconds at low rpm when the exhaust temp light came on. I instantly shut it off and did some more research to see what I didn’t know. My question is there anyway I hurt anything. Everything looks fine and it didn’t seem to get that hot. I was still able to put my hand on many of the part in the exhaust system. Let me know what you think. Thanks

You most likely didn't hurt anything. There are 2 temp sensors in the exhaust and without water, the temp will shoot up very quickly, especially in the one in the can.

Like mentioned. Start, then turn on the water. Turn off the water then stop.
