Rumble at Idle GTX 951

I have a 2000 GTX 951 with 160 hours on it. Just recently I started to feel a vibration or Rumble at idle and it goes away when accelerating. I have pulled the jet pump and checked the bearings to see if there was any play in the shaft. I did not see or feel anything. I plan to rebuild the pump with new bearings ect... and replace the wear ring. Is there anything else I should be checking to isolate the noise or replacing based on the hours. The ski runs with no hesitation or any issues at all. How do these parts look? Thank You

if the pump bearings are good,,rule out a bent drive shaft,,,put the pump back in,,go underneath with a flashlight,,start it up,,you will be able to see a wobble,,,or,,,pull the shaft and roll it on a glass plate,,it will wobble on there,,,also,,check the splines in the prop,,and the pto,,,if it does not do this on the trailor,,it could also be the carbon ring,,,or even the pump seal,,,cavitating

Thank you for your comments. I will check those items today. What’s the standard number of hours to replace bearings and the carbon ring?

Really no standard. When the bearings look bad or the seal leaks replace them.

Seadoo’s will rattle at idle even when everything is perfect, it’s just the design of the pump.

It looks like your thrust bearing has pitting and staining which would suggest replacement.

Thank you. My rebuild kit is on order. At this point no need to replace the carbon ring and kit at this point as I have no leaks. Just need to order some addl. tools to complete the job.
