RTV to keep wear ring from spinning?

I've read a couple of tutorials from other sources, and they say to use RTV between the ring and housing to prevent spinning of the ring. Just wanted some feedback on this. I can't think of any reason why it would hurt if I did. I'm not clear on the type of sealant to use though.... RTV or an Anaerobic like 518?

Seadoo manual specs lok-tite for my pump, I've yet to find a use for camel snot!

My manual doesn't say to use anything. Just press in and you're done, supposedly.

Ah, you're correct, this isn't in the manual. It's in the 155mm pump IPL(illustrated parts list) though, item 61 is loctite 648:
