I am trying to adjust my carbs to the right idle speed and I was reading that you need to be able to see the RPM How can I go about doing this with out a tachometer or can I adjust them with out knowing the RPm .Please help.

I would adjust it in the water so it has friction from the water to get it to idle at the correct range. If it is too fast, turn it down...if it stalls at idle turn it up. If you try to adjust on the hose on the trailer it won't be correct and it will idle faster than in the water.

Age...

With the age of the PWC, I agree with Karl. Put it in the water and set your idle where you like it while it's under a load.
