Ive got a XP from 1999, (bought 2 weeks aggo)

and im running without an oil tank..
pre mixture 50:1

its running pretty good on this set-up
But the problem is that it's running on 1900rpm
when its running idle..
verrry high i think.
but could it have anything to do with the loosing of the oil tank??

The idle in the water should be about 1500 rpm's. On the trailer it will be 3000 rpm.s I would just adjust the idle to the proper range.

The idle screw is near the end of the carb cable, where it attaches to the carb linkage. Be sure the idle screw makes contact to the plate that it uses as a stop. Snap the idle open and close with the engine off to be sure it hits it stop. You don't want it stopping because the throttle cable is out of adjustment. When you adjust it, turn it clockwise about 1/4 turn at a time than start it up. It is easier than adjusting it while it is running.

I hope this helps.
