The previous owner of my 2006 Utopia 205 replaced the speedometer and rpm gauges with Faria gauges.

Speedometer I’m fine with but I question the tachometers. When I’m at idle they read 2000 to 2200. When I accelerate the left engine is all over the place, even pinning it and locking it in place once. At cruise they both settle down to about 5500. They also only go to 7k not 8k like the OEM ones do.

My question is, is this acceptable? Should I try to find some working used ones and replace them?

Well,,,there digital meters with built in tachs,,,and there is the tiny, tach,,,its small,,,but has worked for my single for yesrs,,,

It looks like the Faria's can be tuned so I will set up my multimeter to read RPM and tune them. At least I know that they will be accurate.

Frankly, I like the glass lens and look better than the OEM ones. Just wish they went to 8k but I don't ever expect to run them at that speed!
