Rotax 787 compression

Hi guys, I know that rotax engines should have 150 compression in each cylinder, but I just took the compression on mine and I got 170 on each? Why so high? Bored cylinder?

I have seen cheap gauges be off by 20lbs before try checking with another gauge

Hi,
Did you check with a wide open throttle and a cold engine?

Get a good comp. gauge, some say that the HF ones are spot on but others say they are off by a lot or only read the same on any cylinder. I have a Craftsman, some say the snap-on is the best but also much $$$$. What does Canadian Tire have in way of tools?

Cold engine with full throttle, I used the compression gauge from the garage where I bought it. They are using this gauge everyday. And it was a mac tool I think

I've heard that fogging the cylinders can increase the compression reading. Did someone winterize this engine?
