Another easy way is to buy a cheap slide hammer from Harbor Freight and if you notice the rotary shaft has a 6mm threads so just put an old bolt in the slide hammer and thread it into the shaft and it will pull it out with a few hits, it also works great for removing the rotary shaft bearing in the back of the case.
For the cases most people seem to use the ThreeBond 1211 but I have always used the ThreeBond 1194. It is the same as the Hondabond 4 and the Yamaha version. It comes as the factory case sealer of all the japanese brands and is specifically for crankcases and is gasoline proof. I noticed that GM uses a product on all their engines that looks just like it too. I use the 1211 on all the gaskets and o-rings. Been using this combo for 20 years now without a single air leak or leak down test failure. Better find some wood to knock on quick.
