rope around drive shaft

Ski rope got sucked into impellar. I got most of it out but there is still a chunk caught between the stainless steel cover and the rubber connector just in front of the impellar blades. I can't seem to remove any parts to get at it.
Any suggestions?

That's exactly what I'm going through right now with mine. You might as well pull the pump off, that's the only way I found some rope still between the tube and the shaft. I had to pull the pump to replace the impellar boot (the rubber connector you mention) because I butchered it trying to cut the rope. The boot was less than ten dollars. I still have an unsolved issue with why that pump is aerating, I will post when the problem is solved.

remove pump to get a rope

Thanks for your reply. Exactly where is the pump that you speak of and how do I go about removing it?

Here are some pictures. Everything on the boat, pumps off 30 minutes later on the driveway, what the driveshaft looks like inside the tube (where my rope was wrapped), and the driveshaft end of the pump with my damaged impeller boot and the new one on the ground.
(Order of pics messed up)

Squidoo,...hope your joke'n with that last post....look at pics, and see the whole in middle of axle, there should be a black rubber plug that goes there...

Since your last post, I assumed you were calling the drive shaft an axle. I looked it up in the parts link, and an RXP shop manual, the closest I could find was at the engine end. They called it a damper. With both pumps off, you would think I would have at least one, if the other fell out. Please let me know what you are basing the existence of this plug on.

I think what timmy is saying is the drive shaft plug or [ruber bumper] number 22 http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche.com/seadooforums/Seadoo_oem/Seadoo_JB.asp?Type=13&A=146&B=8 timmy I am not sure were you are from as I do not know all the abreveations for all the united states I am thinking that you may be from some were else as your discription is probbly correct were you are at but most of the time in the us a axel is somthing refered to as something that has a wheel or tire to us people that do not know the other terms as you know but some one with a litle experiance should know what you are talking about as the same term is used but only in a more techanical sence. I hope this make sence no ofence.
