reverse bucket stuck up position

When I was coming to dock my 2006 seadoo sportster, I throttled down but could not move the shifter to neutral - docked by stopping the engine and drifted in.
On land, I noted that my reverse bucket was stuck on up/forward position and I could not push it down - appeared locked in place.
How do I unlock the reverse bucket?
Do you think the reverse cable is broken?
Appreciate advice.
Thanks.

Suspect corrosion in the cable. You can flush the cable with PB blaster and then flush it again with sea-doo lube, or you can replace the cable. It's 1 17 year old boat; I'd change the cable.

Check the plastic nut on the left side of the pump that hold the cable as well. It hold the cable so the internal line can pull the bucket up and push it down.
