Ok guys not posted for ages i have another question for the pros. I got 93spx with a 587 single carb Yellow that am not sure if the rev limiter is working correctly or have i got a fault somewhere else? engine runs but i can't seem to get engine upto full rpms or i may be asking too much of the engine as there is no rpm guage fitted to these. Accordin to my tests as i rev engine high i loose HT on both pots so engine starts to cough so i have changed the Stator and checked timing seems ok. I have changed HT leads and Coil and CDI unit and Rev limiter unit so am stuck from there on. I suspect the prevouse owner has tried tuning the carb the only part i havent spent money on yet as you full throtell it seems to swamp engine giving smoke and backfires. The spark plugs are burning nicer after changing the components above as it was backfiring and stuttering and oiling up the plugs so now there just coming out wet.
