Replacing the rivets and hinges for front storage hatch Sea Doo Sportster

Hello all. So im sure i am not alone in having those cheapo plastic hinges come apart. So i ordered hinges but noticed that one side has philips screws, but the other has rivets into the hatch cover. tried drilling the heads off, but the main rivet cylinder is still in the fiberglass. Anyone have a great idea as to how to get that out without chewing up the fiberglass?

Try the next size up in drill bits. When I drill them out, I typically use a bit slightly larger than the hole in the rivet head.
