Hi guys, new member here.

Proud owner of a - new to me - 2009 Challenger 180.

Great forum.

I'm in the process of changing my stock system - Jensen.

I noticed 2 speakers are not working, and 2 are fine.

I hate the sound quality of the jensens.

I would like to have better sound quality, should I just replace the 4 speakers and leave the stock amp and headunit?

What speakers should I go for? I don't want something super expensive or fancy. Just something to do the trick.

What are the specifications of the stock speakers?

Anything I should look at?

How about adding a 2nd battery? Is it advisable?

Thanks and sorry for being a noob, I come from the PWC world

Look at both of these first.

A second battery is a must if you're planning on running the stereo with the engine off. The stock speakers are 6.5" with a bolt pattern of 6.5" apart, so it'll make looking for aftermarked ones a little trickier. There is no stock amp, so if you're not going to replace it, then just get a set of Infinity or Kicker or something. They'll all sound better than the stock stuff. You can usually find a deal on a amp/speaker package on eBay if you look tho. Good luck.

polk audio hands down... i replaced my two and added 2 6x9s and it sounds great! also all newer polk audio is marine quality....
