Does anyone know of an aftermarket Tachometer that will work on these 717 Rotax engines? I have read countless forums, most of them chopped up with info and all have been ended so no further comments can be left, which is killing this site as far as I am concerned. My boat is a 1998 Sportster 1800. Some of the post seem to make out like not just any tachometer will work on these engines- Dr. Honda's words, not mine. I have tried to repair mine but again the info is chopped up and I am not sure if I am to solder the "3 large solder joints" per one post (dude said easy peasy- yeah right), or the 6 connector female quick connect that we plug into. I have waisted about 6 hours on trying to repair this thing and it is back to doing what it did before. If I can find a tach that will work I'll just replace both of them as I no longer trust these tachometers. Please advise. Thanks
