Hey all I have unhooked everything IE electrical, fuel, carbs, exhaust and the motor mounts.....I have loosened the boot that goes to the outdrive the motor will move but won't come out I haven't pulled to hard on it trying to be careful any help would be great.
Thanks

Like XP787 said you have to remove the pump and driveshaft to be able to remove the motor.

I have not taken the drive shaft out. I wasn't sure if it had to come out or i could slide it off inside the motor comp. the boot that goes over the driveshaft inside the motor comp.

Start by removing the pumps which will allow you to remove the driveshaft.

The other issue you will run into is aligning your motors. You cannot just bolt the new blocks in, they will be out of alignment. Do a search on the forum and you will find all kinds of information on aligning the motors to the driveshaft/pump

pull the silver top hat back against the carbon ring and remove the c-clip before you remove the pumps.

got the impellers out guess i need a slide hammer to get the drive shaft out of the pump. looks like i could use new wear rings around the impellers........If it would make much difference this thing ran HARD and had power with the wear rings like they were

OK having problems getting the damn drive shafts out there stuck in the pump. I have a slide hammer but no way to really get a good bite on it......

Obviously its rusted in there. If you still have the rubber seal on the outside which is supposed to help keep water out from the shaft to impeller connection remove/cut it. Spray PB Blaster and let it soak overnight keep the shaft in an upright position so gravity will help the blaster soak down into the splines. Next I would heat up the shaft close to the impeller but not the impeller . Let it cool and then hold the shaft with the pump a couple inches off the ground and tap the shaft to see if the vibration will allow the weight of the pump to separate the shaft and the impeller.

You have to remove the c-clip that is under the round chrome piece called the hat next to the carbon ring.
You can download the manual for free. I think I got mine on this forum but it's been a while.

You might need to put the pump back on to hold the driveshaft so you can push the hat towards the pump to expose the c-clip

ok i moved the hat toward the rear of the boat...and saw an oring but no clip...the pump is still attached Ill look tomorrow
