I just couldn't take it any longer. Had to get a break from my DI boat issue, so I decided to work on the C180 I just bought. Supercharger washers showed up yesterday, and the tool kit showed up today. My shop manual (hard copy) has not shown up yet, but I decided to dive into the supercharger washer deal anyway.

Got the supercharger bolts off, piece of cake. But I can't get it totally out of the engine because the big exhaust chamber/canister is in the way. So that needs to come out. Can anyone tell me how that big chamber is held to the boat? I ran out of daylight tonight, but got the big t-bolt clamp loosened at the manifold. Couldn't see how the can is held in place.

I couldn't slide the supercharger out far enough to see the washers. I'm just dying to see what they look like. :)

Thanks,
Kevin

Nevermind.....please disregard the question. It's amazing what some light will do. My small light's battery died last night as it was getting dark out, and I just couldn't see what I needed to see. Looked at it this morning and it's pretty easy moving that canister just by unsnapping the rubber strap. Duh.

Got the supercharger out this morning and all looks well. Washers looked good, breakaway torque as-removed from the boat was 70 in-lbs. Now to get the rest done and back on the water. Maybe tomorrow.

Thanks,
Kevin
