reed valves

I'm Kinda new to this seadoo thing, but I must ask a basic question:does the 787 have reed valves(ok 2 questions) and if so where are they.
I'm looking at a good used 96 787 but the guy says the reeds need to be replaced.

Sorry to all, but I have answered my own question.The guy with the motor is confused or using the wrong term.
I know I have a rotory valve but assumed there was more to it behind the valve
