Recycling old skydoo parts?

Hi there.

I am trying to design my own "dream machine". Here are the specs:
1- capacity to navigate slowly, with low level of noise
2- navigate in shallow waters
3- ability to perform in areas covered with vegetation
4- use automobile engine
5- capacity to carry large loads
6- economy and autonomy are very important
6- speed comes last, and 25 mph would be glorious...

There are lots of crafts for open, deep and clear waters, but I live and work in the largest swamps and marshes of Bolivia (google PANTANAL, BOLIVIA).

I need something different and want to try using old "jet-system" parts of crafts discarded because of broken engines.

Anyone out there ever gave it a thought?

Any help will be welcome.

Thanks to all

No, it's not necessarily stupid...

Yeah! Think of it this way: there are now skydoo races on water! Bet that was not in the original plans, eh?

And even a dugout wooden canoo with pedals and salvaged jet propulsion could be an interesting alternative to what amazonian indians use...

C'mon give it a minute or two.

Thanks

Another angle...

Propulsion:

I read somwhere that the primitive seadoos came without PROPELLER.
It was just a rotating tube with an internal spiral welded.

Is that correct? Such an impeller would have no problems with vegetation, as long as the water supply did not reduce too much, eh?

And how about using threads? No problems with vegetation, stones or shells.
But what about performance?

The point is (or should be) how to use jet propulsion for other purposes and in other environments. I am sure this community is capable of helping.

Thanks again.
