This is a modification of the intake grates at a 2006 Utopia 205. The original system never worked 100% properly so I made a new drive with an electrical cylinder. The whole wiring is original, only the V.T.S assembly and the weed-less grate module have been removed. Function is now controlled by a relay for controlling the polarity at the cylinder motor and a kind of timer relay. Unfortunately it's quite tricky to set the timer to periods smaller than 15 seconds therefore the grates are open for roughly 25 seconds. But now the grates are always fully open and the closing position is every time at the correct position. Very often the original design didn't open fully and the closing position was sometimes in a way where debris and weeds could pass into the pump and causes cavitations.
