Real dumb question

Hi guys. New here.

Just bought a 1996 GTI and I have a very simple question.

How do I flush the engine after being in salt water? I have seen many people describe the process, but I'm talking very basic here. No one ever mention where you put the hose. Is the hose hookup inside the engine compartment? Or on the outside of the ski?

Outside of washing the ski down well, and flushing the engine, is there anything else I should do after salt water?

Thanks in advance

Hose kit...

If you can't see an obvious connector, the size of the garden hose, then you'll need to get the water house attachment.

I'm not sure of your year model, but on the back of the pump, look for a plug, the size of the house. This will be where you hook up the water.

BTW, no question here is a dumb question.

The hose connection would be on the rear of the seadoo above the Jet Pump Nozzel. It would look like a small pipe with threads in it to screw a garden hose to. You can hook up the hose to the seadoo and have them run for up to 5 minutes. Connect the hose and start the seadoo. Turn on the water after it is started. Turn off the water, than shut down the seadoo. This way it won't allow water to back flow into the engine through the exhaust due to no back pressure from the engine not running. The bearings and seals on the impeller jet pump are cooled from being in the water. When it is on the trailer it doesn't have that cooling effect so they will get hot after about 5 minutes.
I pre start my seadoo's too, dry before I leave for the launch too. Just for a second or 2 to be sure it will start at launch. Peace of mind is worth lot.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the help. I can not find the nozzle you have described. On the back is the propellor (impellor?) and a large hole to the right I would assume is a water intake. But it's much larger than a garden hose. If not on the back, where would I next look?

thanks!

I looked at the parts list for your ski it did not show what I was looking for. You may have to get a sevice manual to see how it is done on your ski, If it is even possable. If you are a pemium member you can see it for free. Good luck robin
