Rave Valves trouble

Hey all,
I am having a lot of trouble from my rave valves. I ran the boat yesterday and it ran great but when I checked there was some leaking on the back valve. I have rebuilt and cleaned them Three times. The last time i did this I used all new parts except the housings. I have melted on piston twice and one cap. i blew a spring through the cap adjustment. Not sure why they are getting so hot. Anyone else have this trouble?

It may be time to change the housings, as they wear too.

i had the same problem. melted the caps twice. replace the housing as it wears and the o-ring is not large enough to keep the pistons and caps from melting. i replaced the housing and the valve part itself as the shaft can wear as well.
